Men’s Basketball Finishes Up Road Trip at Dallas Baptist

DALLAS, Texas – The East Central University men's basketball team wrapped up a three-game road trip to start the 2021-22 season at Dallas Baptist, falling 80-65 at the Burg Center.

Scoring
  • 1st Half: 34-39
    • The teams traded shots and small runs through the first eight minutes of the game
    • The Patriots (3-0) then took control, going on a 13-1 run to gain an 11-point lead (30-19)
    • DBU pushed the lead to as many as 12 (33-21), with eight minutes remaining
    • The Tigers (0-3) then went on a 7-0 run to cut the disadvantage to five (33-28)
    • The Patriots kept the lead between five and seven points the rest of the half
  • 2nd Half: 31-41 (65-80)
    • DBU pushed the lead back to double digits in the first two minutes of the stanza
    • Over the next five minutes ECU kept fighting and got the deficit down to five (48-43)
    • But that was as close as they would get, as the Patriots built the lead back to as many as 13 and held it above double-digits for most of the game
