Men’s Basketball Battles with Rogers State

ADA, Okla. – The East Central University men's basketball team dropped a 64-56 non-conference game to Rogers State at the Kerr Activities Center.

Scoring
  • 1st Half: 24-28
    • Neither team scored for the first two minutes when the Tigers (1-4) went 1-of-2 at the free throw line
    • No field goals were scored until 16:11, when ECU hit a layup
    • The Tigers were up 4-0 before the Hillcats (5-1) scored, with 15:10 remaining
    • RSU followed with a 13-0 run, over the next three minutes to take the advantage
    • ECU slowly started a come-back and used a 6-0 run in the final three minutes to get within two
    • The Hillcats hit the final points of the game at the free-throw line, with 32 seconds left
  • 2nd Half: 32-36 (56-64)
    • RSU started on a 4-0 run, in the first two minutes
    • The Tigers followed with an 8-0 run, over the next 3:30 minutes, to take a two-point advantage (34-32)
    • The teams then battled back-and-forth for control with several tie scores
    • Final tie came at 50-all, with 4:22 left on the clock
    • The Hillcats then took a three-point lead and never game it up the rest of the stanza
    • ECU kept things close until the final 1:30 when RSU used free throws to extend the advantage
