Women’s Basketball Starts Busy Week at Southeastern

DURANT, Okla. – In the third of four regular-season meetings between the East Central University women's basketball team and Southeastern Oklahoma State, the Tigers (8-4, 8-4 GAC) were unable to keep their winning streak (2-0) over the Savage Storm (5-7, 5-7 GAC) alive, falling 58-49 at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 13-13
    • Low scoring both ways at the start, with only four points tallied in the first 4:30 minutes
    • Close game, with the teams trading shots throughout the quarter
      • Neither team led by more than one possession
  • 2nd Quarter: 4-10 (17-23)
    • No scoring again through the first three minutes
      • Back-and-forth battle continued through the quarter
    • The Savage Storm took the first lead over three-points, with 1:38 to play (17-21)
    • SOSU went on a 6-0 run in the final two minutes to gain the advantage
  • 3rd Quarter: 15-16 (32-39)
    • The run by the Savage Storm continued to the first 2:30 of the second half, to 9-0
    • SOSU pushed the advantage to 11 (30-19), with 5:30 left on the clock
    • The Tigers followed with an 8-1 run, to get within four (31-27), over the next two minutes
    • The Savage Storm finished the stanza on an 8-5 run, for the seven-point lead
  • 4th Quarter: 17-19 (49-58)
    • SOSU scored the first three points in the final quarter
    • ECU then went on a 5-0 run, to take a 44-43 advantage, with 4:40 left on the clock
    • The battled resumed, with no team leading by more than two points, until the final two minutes
    • After a 48-all tie, the Savage Storm finished the game on a 10-1 run
