Tiger Athletics Week at a Glance – March 1-7
ADA, Okla. – The East Central University athletics department will have a full week of games, with only the soccer team not facing Northwestern Oklahoma State throughout the week.
The week starts with the men's and women's basketball teams hosting the opening round of the Great American Conference Tournament Championship, Monday, March 1. The women's team claimed the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 NWOSU, while the men's team is the No. 3 seed and will also battle No. 6 NWOSU.
The GAC Basketball Tournament will continue, with the quarterfinals set for Wednesday, March 3, semifinals Friday, March 5 and the finals Sunday, March 7.
The ECU volleyball team will then return to action after a week off, Tuesday, March 2 at home against NWOSU.
The soccer team will play their first of two games at Tiger field for the week, Wednesday, March 3 against Rogers State. The Tigers then host Oklahoma Baptist, Saturday, March 6.
The baseball and softball teams will then have their yearly series against NWOSU. The baseball team will host the Rangers, while the softball team will travel to Alva, Okla., March 5-6.

While the teams will be back on the court, the GAC Council of Presidents approved return to play protocols. The ECU Athletics Department has announced that ECU student-athletes and non-student coaching staff may invite two immediate family members to home contests. ECU remains committed to enforcing a mandatory mask and social distancing mitigation effort on the entire campus. All seating will be arranged to adhere to current, local and, state guidelines for combating COVID-19. No tickets will be available to visiting teams.
