RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – East Central University freshman Emma Strickland has earned the first Great American Conference Volleyball Player of the Week honor, claiming the Offensive Player of the Week title for Sept. 20.

The Mansfield, Texas, native helped the Tigers (3-8, 1-0 GAC) to a 2-0 mark on the week, including a five-set win over Southern Nazarene in the first league match of the seasons.

Strickland recorded 31 kills, a .352 (31k-6e-71ta) hitting percentage, 23 digs, 4 (1-3) total blocks and 1 service ace in the wins over SNU and Texas Woman's.

ECU returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 21 when they travel to face GAC foe, Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m.
