ADA, Okla. -  The East Central University soccer team gave its three seniors a final win in their last match at Tiger Soccer Field, defeating Harding University 2-1.

"I was excited and proud of our effort today," Head Coach Riley Bailey said. "The team really came together and fought hard to send the seniors off on a positive note."

Harding came out on the attack first in the opening half, taking two shots by the 20th minute. East Central's Olivia Witte responded two minutes later notching the match's first goal off an assist from Abbie Morris to put ECU up early 1-0. The Tigers defense kept the Bison's scoreless in the first period as Harding was limited to just two shots, both of which were saved by McKenna Leveling. ECU would attempt six more shots for the remainder of the half but were unable to find the back of the net, keeping the score 1-0 going into halftime.

In the second half, the Tigers and Bison worked tirelessly against one another as both teams came out fighting. ECU was able to increase their lead with another goal 11 minutes into the period when Olivia Witte connected off an assist from Lauren Butler to lead 2-0. This marks Witte's first multi-goal game of the season and second of her career. Harding managed to get on the scoreboard in the 70th minute with a goal that prevented an East Central shutout. The Tigers refused to let the Bison have any more momentum, and they went on to finish the game with a 2-1 win over the Bison.

Olivia Witte led the offense in goals with two while Abbie Morris led in shots and shots on goal with 5 and 4 respectively. Kaylee Bruce put up three shots and Madelyn Bird  added one.

The Tigers honored three seniors Lauren Butler, Alexis Perez, and Jocelyn Caracheo before the start of the match.
