Women’s Basketball Picks Win Over Arch Rival Southeastern

ADA, Okla. – The East Central University women's basketball team claimed their third-straight victory, with a 69-62 win over arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State at the Kerr Activities Center.

Scoring
  • 1st Quarter: 16-15
    • The Savage Storm (10-14, 8-10 GAC) were the first to score, but the Tigers (13-9, 10-8 GAC) followed with an 8-0 run in the first four minutes
    • SEOSU fought back within one in the next minute
    • The teams traded shots and small runs through the rest of the stanza
    • The Savage Storm finished with the final shot, with one minute left, to take the lead
  • 2nd Quarter: 14-16 (30-31)
    • The battle continued into the second quarter, with a tie at 21, with 6:20 left
    • ECU then went on a 7-0 run over the next two minutes
    • The Savage Storm used a 10-0 run of its own to take a three-point lead, with 1:34 left to play
    • The Tigers hit the final shot, with 30 seconds left, to get within one

    • ECU then took control for good, going on a 7-2 run in the remaining time

    • ECU kept up the pressure in the final stanza and never gave up the advantage
      • Built the lead to 10 (62-52), with two minutes left
    • SEOSU countered with a 6-0 run in the next minute, but could not get closer
