EDMOND, Okla. – The East Central University volleyball team traveled to Edmond, Oklahoma for a nonconference matchup against Oklahoma Christian University Friday night, dropping the match in straight sets to the Eagles (25-20, 25-21, 25-19).

The first set saw four lead changes between the two teams before OC went on a 4-0 scoring run to lead 12-9 going into ECU's first timeout. The Tigers would work their way back to within two at 18-16, but a push from the Eagles would close out the set 25-20.

OC jumped on the attack early in the second set taking a 5-0 lead. Trailing behind as much as eight points, the Tigers managed to force their way back to within three at 21-18, but the Eagles took four of the following seven points to cement their second-set win.

Set three started off with four consecutive points by OC, but an 8-1 scoring run by ECU put them back on top 8-5. The Tigers would continue to increase their lead 11-6, but a surge of points from the Eagles tied it all at 11, and they eventually regained the lead 14-11. OC rode out the momentum to a 25-19 third-set win and 3-0 win over ECU.
