SHAWNEE, Okla. – The East Central University women's soccer team traveled to Shawnee, Oklahoma for a GAC matchup against Oklahoma Baptist, falling 3-2 in the end. ECU is now 1-2-1 in conference play.
"We started a bit slow but continued to claw our way back and play well in the second half," Head Coach
Riley Bailey said. "We created some quality chances and were able to finish two of them. The effort was great, and I am proud of the fight we had tonight."
OBU attacked first, scoring their first shot and goal at the 1:52 mark to get the early 1-0 lead.

Olivia Witte would each take their chance to score, but at the 28
th minute, it would be the Bisons to find the back of the net again and double their lead 2-0 going into halftime.
Within the first seven minutes, OBU would take five shots to start the second half. At the 54:17 mark,
Kaylee Bruce added the first goal for the Tigers off a pass from
Olivia Witte to cut the lead in half. This is Bruce's fourth goal on the season.
Cambori Watson would take the next shot in hopes of tying the game, but another Bison connection to the net in the 70
th minute pushed the lead 3-1. ECU fought back, and
Abbie Morris managed to get a penalty kick goal at the 77:32 mark. The late push was not enough for the Tigers, and the Bisons secured the win 3-2.
ECU had nine total shots with six being on goal while OBU had 22 total shots and 13 being on goal.
Baylee Hensley had a career-high 10 saves as keeper in the 90-minute match.
The East Central University women's soccer team will be back at Tiger Soccer Field Saturday, Oct. 1
st for a home GAC matchup against Southern Nazarene University at 11 a.m.
