Icy Weather Postpones Opening Day for Baseball and Softball

ADA, Okla. - Due to the winter weather in the area over the next few days, the East Central University baseball and softball season openers have been postponed.
 
The ECU baseball team was scheduled to play at the University of Central Oklahoma Wednesday, Feb. 1st at 2 p.m. A makeup date will be set later.
 
Baseball is now set to open the 2023 season at the Dugan Invitational in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with a slight change to the schedule. Thursday's game vs. Northwest Missouri State University has been pushed back to Sunday, (Feb 5th) at 1 p.m.
 
Friday's game vs. the University of Arkansas Fort Smith (Feb. 3rd) at 4 p.m. will now become ECU's tournament and season opener. The Saturday game vs. Northeastern State University (Feb. 4th) is as scheduled for a 10 a.m. start.
 
The ECU softball team's season opener against Newman scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 1st at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. has also been postponed. The Tigers and Jets are working on a makeup date TBD.
 
Softball will now open the 2023 season on Tuesday, Feb. 7th  in Ada for a doubleheader matchup against Midwestern State University at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Tiger Field.
