PRYOR, Okla. – With the series knotted 1-1, the East Central University baseball team dropped Game 3 of the series finale with Northeastern State University 12-5 Sunday evening.
 
The Game 3 action began in the bottom of the second when NSU put up back-to-back home runs to collect their first three runs.
 
The Tigers answered back in the top of the fourth after a 3 RBI double from 
Nick Blankenship drove in 
Michael Rosario, 
Christian Whitaker, and 
Gage Boatman to tie the game 3-all.
 
NSU exploded in the fifth, putting up seven runs on six hits to take a 10-3 lead. In the sixth, the Riverhawks tacked on their final two runs to go up 12-3.
 
ECU tried to rally in the seventh as 
Gage Boatman reached on an error, Blankenship was hit by pitch, and 
Nolan Herchock doubled to drive in Boatman. An error by the NSU shortstop on the play allowed Blankenship to cross home plate to cut the lead 12-5.
 
In the final two innings, the Tigers were unable to score, leaving five men stranded on the base paths. The Riverhawks would take the series after a final score of 12-5.
 
Nolan Herchock led the Tiger offense with a 3-4 finish and an RBI.
 
Michael Rosario, 
Carson Thomas, and 
Nick Blankenship had one hit each while Blankenship racked up three RBI's.
Starting pitcher 
Bryan Terry took the loss.

The East Central University baseball team will now hit the road Tuesday, Feb. 14 to take on Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO at 2 p.m.
