ADA, Okla. – The East Central University baseball team hosted Southern Nazarene University in a nonconference matchup, falling 12-1 to the Crimson Storm on Tuesday afternoon at Ken Turner Field.
SNU opened the scoring in the second inning as a Tiger error allowed the Crimson Storm to add a run for the 1-0 start.
Both squads went scoreless the next two frames until ECU finally put up a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, courtesy of two SNU errors that plated
Nick Blankenship to knot the score 1-1.
The scoring continued for the Crimson Storm, though, while the Tigers bats grew quiet.
SNU was able to pack on one run in the fifth, three in the sixth, and seven in the seventh to quickly jump out to a 12-1 lead and seal the midweek win.
Drake Sisemore took the loss, going 4.0 innings and allowing two runs on three hits.
Bryce Crawford came in relief, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up three runs on three hits.
Kaleb Dent and
Jarod Leroux also saw action on the mound for .2 innings.
Nick Blankenship and Dawelyn Amancio picked up a hit.
The East Central University Baseball team will travel to Searcy, Arkansas, for the final road series of the 2023 season, taking on Harding University starting April 21 at 6:00 p.m.
