ADA, Okla. – The East Central University volleyball team welcomed the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma for a nonconference matchup, taking care of business in three straight sets (25-18, 25-11, 25-13) on Friday in the Kerr Activities Center.
With the win, the Tigers moved to 4-7 overall on the year.
ECU registered a season-high .283 hitting percentage in the sweep with 39 kills on 99 swings and 11 errors to go along with 59 digs, 37 assists, 13 blocks, and seven aces. USAO was held to a negative hitting percentage with 21 kills on 109 attempts and 22 errors.
Emma Strickland and
Odalys Gonzalez led the offense posting 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Strickland earned a double-double with her 11 digs as well as teammate
Julia Kabala who had 32 assists and 11 digs. On defense, libero
Sydney Roshek collected 16 digs and a match-high four aces while
Jada Abercrombie posted five block assists.
ECU will make a quick trip to Durant, Oklahoma tomorrow to take on Southwest Baptist University at 1 pm.
