ADA, Okla. – With the Great American Conference action underway, the East Central University soccer team turned in its first tie of the 2023 season on Saturday in a scoreless draw at home against Harding University.
"I am proud of our ladies for stepping up and battling a solid Harding group," Head Coach
Riley Bailey said. "We played really well and created some quality chances. Unfortunately, we couldn't get one to go in but the effort was tremendous."
The zeros on the scoreboard did not match the pace of the game, which featured 14 shots by Harding (2-3-3, 0-0-2 GAC) and 16 shots by ECU (0-6-1, 0-0-1 GAC). The Tigers also led in shots on goal by a final margin of 11-7.

Brooklyn Meisner, and
Amorette Ramos each had two shots on goal in the game.
Paige Jones,
Tanja Bauboeck, and
Reece Roberson accounted for the remaining shots on goal.
McKenna Leveling played the full 90 minutes in goal and recorded seven saves in the game, with five of them occurring in the second period as Harding took more than double the number of shots they did in the opening period.
ECU will resume play on Wednesday, Sept. 27 with another GAC matchup at home against Oklahoma Baptist University at 4 pm.
