ADA, Okla. – In the first game back at the Kerr Activities Center following the winter break, the East Central University men's basketball team faced a 61-44 loss at the hands of the University of Arkansas at Monticello Boll Weevils on Thursday night in Ada.
The loss brings ECU's overall record to 8-5 on the year and 4-3 in conference play.
Struggling to get much of anything to fall through the basket, the Tigers faced an uphill battle from the opening minute of the game.
Both halves were controlled by UAM, with the Boll Weevils holding an eight-point lead at halftime and extending it to as much as 18 in the second half. The Tigers had the game within single digits (7) with nine minutes remaining, but that would be as close as they would get.
While no Tigers posted double-digit figures,
Keyon Thomas came close, leading the team with nine points.
Bryce Woolridge and
Nikk Williams totaled eight points each, with
Robel Desta and
Mohamed Elgohary adding six.
The ECU men's basketball team will be back at the Kerr Activities Center on Saturday, Jan. 13
th to take on Southern Arkansas University at 3 pm.
