Perez Named GAC Special Teams Player of the Week
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Great American Conference released its weekly football award winners, and East Central University's
Brandon Perez has been named the GAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the seventh week of the 2024 season, marking his first career honor and the team's first recognition of the season.
Perez played a crucial role in the Tigers' 20-14 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State University, converting both of his extra points and field goals.He started strong with a 26-yard kick in the first quarter and capped of his performance with a career-long 51-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, extending the Tigers' lead to 20-7. With his effort, Perez improved to a perfect four-for-four on field goals this season.
Perez and the Tigers will now prepare for a GAC matchup against Southern Nazarene Unviversity on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Bethany.
