ECU Athletics Gifts Nike N7 Dunks to Student-Athletes in Honor of Partnership with the Chickasaw Nation
ADA Okla. – East Central University Athletics is proud to announce the gifting of Nike N7 Dunks to all of its student-athletes, celebrating the university's strong partnership with the Chickasaw Nation. The iconic Nike N7 Dunks feature colors and symbolism of great significance to the Indigenous culture, and ECU's student-athletes will wear them with great pride throughout the community.
"We are incredibly proud to partner with Nike N7," said ECU Athletic Director Matt Cole. "This collaboration aligns perfectly with our values and mission to provide our student-athletes with the best resources and opportunities. Nike N7 has a long-standing tradition of empowering Native American and Indigenous communities through sport and physical activity. By partnering with Nike N7, ECU Athletics aims to inspire and uplift its athletes, fostering a sense of pride and belonging."
The Nike N7 line is inspired by the Indigenous Concept of the Seventh Generation Principle that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable world seven generations into the future. The line honors Native American and Indigenous culture through colors and symbols representing strength, heritage, and resilience.
The bold turquoise, red, and white tones of the N7 Dunks reflect the vibrant art and traditions of the Chickasaw Nation. By wearing these shoes, ECU student-athletes proudly represent and celebrate this rich cultural legacy.

Currently, the ECU men's basketball, women's basketball, soccer, and softball teams are wearing N7 Koi Ishto uniforms, which reflect the cultural significance of the Chickasaw Nation. Other ECU athletic programs will soon follow, proudly showcasing the N7 brand and its symbolism.
The N7 Dunks, along with the N7 Koi Ishto uniforms, serve as visible reminders of ECU's commitment to honoring the Chickasaw Nation's legacy and the vital role Native American culture plays within the university's community. These gifts unite ECU student-athletes under shared symbols of strength, pride, and tradition.
