Women’s Golf Competes at Grace Shin Invitational

EDMOND, Okla. – The East Central University women's golf team competed at the Grace Shin Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma at The Golf Club of Edmond on October 6-7. The Tigers finished 19th as a team and will have one more tournament before wrapping up the fall portion of their season.
 
Addison Furtick led ECU individually once again, posting rounds of 82 and 81 for a two-day total of 163 (+21). She showed consistency on the back nine, shooting 39 in both rounds, and finished 72nd overall.
 
Second-best on the team was Adrianna O'Daniel, who recorded a season-best 173 (+31) and placed 89th individually. After a tough opening round of 91, she bounced back with an 82 in Round 2, including a strong back nine of 38 to close out the tournament.
 
Skye Vaca and Paola Gutierrez tied for 92nd with identical two-round totals of 175 (+33). Vaca improved by seven strokes from her first round 91 to an 84 in Round 2, while Gutierrez posted rounds of 85 and 90, highlighting a solid back nine 39 in Round 1.
 
Rounding out the Tigers was Gracie Lasiter, who finished 94th overall with rounds of 96 and 80 for a total of 176 (+34). After a difficult first round, she rebounded with her best score of the tournament in Round 2.
 
The Tigers will now prepare for their final fall tournament at the Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State University in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on October 13-14.
