Soccer Earns GAC Honors and Academic Distinctions
SEARCY, Ark. – The Great American Conference has announced its end-of-season All-GAC Teams, annual superlatives, and Academic Honor Roll, and East Central University soccer was well represented with eight student-athletes honored for their accomplishments both on and off the field during the 2025 season.
2025 Women's Soccer All-GAC Honors
Senior
Ximena Resendiz led the way with a selection to the All-GAC Second Team, the first All-GAC accolade of her Tiger career. A consistent anchor of ECU's back line, Resendiz appeared in all 18 games, starting all but one, and totaled 1,406 minutes, two goals, and two assists. She has earned GAC Defensive Player of the Week three times in her career, most recently just two weeks ago.
Sophomore defender
Emily Cavazos earned All-GAC Honorable Mention honors for the second straight year, recognized once again for her reliability and impact. The sophomore defender started and played in all 18 games this season, amassing 1,457 minutes and a goal.
Junior captain
Reece Roberson highlighted ECU's academic success, earning recognition as a GAC Elite Scholar Athlete, an award given to student-athletes with the highest GPAs and at least 70 completed credit hours. She was one of just three student-athletes in the entire GAC to receive the prestigious honor.
ECU's academic excellence continued with
Addisyn Brown,
Makaiah Carlson,
Brooklyn Ellis,
Melieah Hinnant, and
Lauren Mora, all of whom were named to the GAC Academic Honor Roll, awarded to student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and have completed a minimum of one year of full-time collegiate coursework.
With the season now complete, the Tigers turn their focus to building on this year's high notes as they prepare for the year ahead.
