Coffey Named GAC Offensive Player of the Week
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its weekly Player of the Week honors for week six of the 2025–26 season, and East Central University men's basketball standout
Rustin Coffey was named Offensive Player of the Week following an exceptional week of play.
The junior from Valliant, Oklahoma earned his first career GAC weekly award and the Tigers' first of the season after fueling ECU's offense during a perfect 2–0 week.
Coffey delivered back-to-back 20-plus point performances, opening the week with a career-high 26 points in Thursday's upset of No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist University. He followed that effort with 25 points in ECU's final non-conference contest of the season, a Sunday victory over Newman University.
For the week, Coffey averaged 25.5 points and 36 minutes per game while shooting an efficient 61.3 percent from the floor (19-of-31) and 47.1 percent from beyond the arc, knocking down eight three-pointers.
The Tigers will take a brief break before returning to action in the New Year, resuming conference play against Southwestern Oklahoma State University on January 3.
