Williams and Jones Earn All-GAC Honorable Mention
FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Great American Conference (GAC) announced its annual superlative awards, All-GAC Teams, and top Scholar Athletes for Men's Basketball on Wednesday evening, with East Central University's
Nikk Williams and
Bishop Jones earning spots on the All-GAC Honorable Mention Team.
Additionally,
Godsgift Ezedinma,
Ryan Kelly, and
Bryce Woolridge earned spots on the GAC Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a minimum of one year in full-time college attendance.
2024-25 All-GAC Teams
This marks the first career GAC honors for both Williams and Jones, who were recognized for their exceptional performances during the 2024-25 season.
Williams has become a pivotal player for the Tigers, enjoying a standout sophomore campaign. He played an average of 30.3 minutes per game, leading the team with 12.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 27 blocks, while also contributing 78 assists, the second-highest total on the team. Across the GAC, Williams ranked No. 16 in scoring, No. 5 in rebounding, No. 4 in blocks, and No. 11 in assists. He was named GAC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season after a career-high 31-point performance and recorded three 20+ point games, as well as two double-doubles.
Jones made an immediate impact after red-shirting last season. Despite missing the latter half of the season due to injury, he impressed during his debut, earning the conference accolade. In the 14 games he played and started, Jones averaged 30 minutes per game, 19.1 points, and 5.7 rebounds, ranking among the top players in the conference. He scored in double digits in all but one game, including five 20+ point performances and two consecutive 30+ point games, capped by a career-high 36 points against Dallas Christian.
