Women’s Golf Returns to the Course, Opens 2025 Season at NSU Classic
TULSA, Okla. – The East Central University women's golf team officially returned to competition for the first time since the 2016 season, beginning a new chapter as a reinstated program. The Tigers opened their season at the Northeastern State University Classic, held at the Page Belcher Golf Course in Tulsa on September 8 and 9. In a strong field of teams, ECU finished in 17th place.
Addison Furtick led the Tigers with a 69th place individual finish, posting a two-round total of 167, 25 over par. Paola Gutierrez followed as the second-best finisher for ECU, carding a total score of 173, 31 over par. Gracie Lasiter made a notable improvement from the first to the second round, shaving off eight strokes to finish with a 184. Skye Vaca contributed a score of 187, while Adrianna O'Daniel rounded out the lineup with a total of 188.
With their first tournament now behind them, the ECU women's golf team will shift focus to their next event at the Oklahoma Women's Intercollegiate Tournament, hosted by Cameron University on September 15 and 16.
