Donald Kipsang and Winnie Kipsang Named GAC Runners of the Week
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – East Central University cross country standouts
Donald Kipsang and
Winnie Kipsang have been named the Great American Conference Men's and Women's Runners of the Week for the third week of the 2025 season, the league announced Wednesday.
The duo earned the honors after leading the Tigers with standout performances at the Missouri Southern Stampede this past weekend in Joplin, Missouri.
Winnie Kipsang continued her impressive junior campaign by finishing 5th overall in the women's 5k with a personal-best time of 17:44.3, marking her fastest time in a collegiate race and securing the top finish among ECU women.
On the men's side,
Donald Kipsang placed 12th individually in the highly competitive 8k field, clocking a career-best 24:13.53. His performance was the highest finish for any ECU male runner at the meet and continues a strong start to his sophomore season.
The Tigers will return to action on October 4
th when they compete at the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas.
