McGregor Earns GAC Special Teams Player of the Week
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference has announced its Players of the Week for week four of the 2025 football season, with East Central University kicker
Alexander McGregor earning Special Teams Player of the Week honors. McGregor's clutch kicking helped the Tigers secure a decisive 41-20 road victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Saturday.
This marks McGregor's first GAC weekly honor of his career and the Tigers' second weekly award this season. He was perfect on the night, going 2-for-2 on field goals and converting all five extra point attempts.
McGregor capped off the second quarter with a 35-yard field goal, sending ECU into halftime with a commanding 31-6 lead. He then extended the Tigers' advantage with a 43-yard field goal in the third quarter, pushing the lead to 34-6.
Following his performance, McGregor climbs to the No. 2 spot in the GAC scoring standings, averaging 8.7 points per game.
McGregor and the Tigers now prepare for a pivotal Great American Conference showdown against No. 2 Harding University, set for Saturday, Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. in Searcy.
