Women’s Track & Field Capture Two Individual Wins at Dean Pryor Invite

COFFEYVILLE, KS – The East Central University women's track & field team competed at the Dean Pryor Invitational on March 12 in strong early-season form, facing a competitive field while recording several top finishes in sprints, hurdles, and jumps.
 
Jazmine White led the Tigers in the high jump, claiming first place with a mark of 1.58m (5-02.25). She was closely followed by Lexii LeCrone, who took second at 1.53m (5-00.25), and Kaylyn Cotner, who finished third at 1.48m (4-10.25). Isabel Gabbert also cleared 1.48m, rounding out ECU's strong presence in the event.
 
Freshman Kalese Anderson was a standout in the long jump, winning the event with a leap of 5.64m (18-06.00). Haley Ellison also made the podium in the long jump, finishing third with a mark of 5.08m (16-08.00).
 
On the track, Haley Ellison posted top finishes in the sprints, placing 10th in the 100m in 12.50 and fifth in the 200m in 26.18. Chloe Tatum also contributed strong sprint performances, placing eighth in the 200m (26.78) and second in the 400m in 1:03.36. Destiny Jennings added a seventh-place finish in the 400m (1:06.26) and ran in the 200m as well.
 
In the 100m hurdles, freshman Macee Hall earned a podium finish, taking third in 17.70 to highlight ECU's depth in the hurdles.
 
The Tigers also had representation in distance events, with Damaris Chewon posting a time of 5:48.27 in the 1500m, rounding out the team's overall efforts.
 
ECU's athletes combined strong individual performances with early-season experience, setting the stage for continued success in the 2026 track & field season.
