Men’s Golf Competes at Arkansas Collegiate
EL DORADO, AR – The East Central University men's golf team competed at the 2026 Arkansas Collegiate, hosted by Southern Arkansas University on March 23-24 at Mystic Creek Golf Course. Facing a 15-team field, the Tigers finished tied for 12th overall across three rounds of play.
Pablo Illescas led ECU with a 19th-place individual finish, posting a three-round total of 237 (+21). He opened the tournament with an 80 (+8) before turning in his best round in Round 2 with a 76 (+4). Illescas closed with an 81 (+9), finishing as the Tigers' top performer for the event.
Jackson Jones followed with a 33rd-place finish, recording a three-round total of 241 (+25). He opened with an 81 (+9) and added an 80 (+8) in Round 2 before closing with another 80 (+8). Jones delivered a steady performance across all three rounds, staying consistent throughout the tournament.
Gabriel Jones placed 45th overall with a three-round total of 245 (+29). After opening with an 85 (+13), he rebounded with a 78 (+6) in Round 2, marking his lowest round of the tournament. Jones finished with an 82 (+10) in the final round to complete his weekend.
Gage Tennyson finished 67th overall with a three-round total of 254 (+38). He opened with an 87 (+15) before turning in a 79 (+7) in Round 2, highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-3 12th. Tennyson closed with an 88 (+16) in the final round to cap his tournament.
Landon Alexander rounded out the Tigers' lineup with a 78th-place finish, posting a three-round total of 270 (+54). He opened with a 92 (+20), followed by an 88 (+16) in Round 2, and closed with a 90 (+18) to finish the tournament.
The Tigers will now turn their attention to the Great American Conference Championships, set for April 19-21 at Forest Ridge Golf Course in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, marking ECU's first appearance in the event since the 2016 season.
