Softball Completes Series Sweep Over UAM with 3-2 Walk-Off Win

ADA, Okla. – The East Central University softball team capped off its Great American Conference home series in thrilling fashion, walking off Arkansas-Monticello, 3-2, on Saturday at Tiger Softball Field to complete the series sweep.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 8-19 in GAC play while the Cotton Blossoms drop to 7-20. ECU will return to Tiger Softball Field next week for its final home series of the season, hosting Southeastern Oklahoma State University on April 24-25.

Arkansas-Monticello struck early, plating two runs in the opening inning to take a 2-0 lead. ECU responded in the second, as Haley Kruger delivered an RBI single up the middle to score Kenni Tudor and cut the deficit in half.

The Tigers continued to battle but were held off the scoreboard until the seventh inning, setting up late-game heroics. With the bases loaded, Lillian Bacon was hit by a pitch to bring home Hannah Whitaker and tie the game at 2-2. Moments later, Kenni Tudor delivered the walk-off single to right field, scoring Abbey Strong and sealing the 3-2 victory.

Kenni Tudor led the Tigers at the plate with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, including the walk-off RBI. Abbey Strong added a multi-hit effort, going 2-for-4, while Sara Camplain also recorded two hits. Haley Kruger and Lillian Bacon each drove in a run as ECU totaled 12 hits in the victory.

In the circle, Bradi Odom went the distance, earning her second complete-game win of the week after allowing just two runs on nine hits while striking out four.
