Softball Caps Home Slate with Senior Walk-Off to Claim Series

ADA, Okla. – The East Central University softball team closed out its 2026 home slate Sunday against rival Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a split, bouncing back in dominant fashion to secure the series win at Tiger Softball Field.  After falling 10-0 in game one, the Tigers responded with an 8-0 run-rule victory in game two, capped by a storybook senior walk-off to secure the series win over the Savage Storm.

With the series win, ECU improves to 10-20 in GAC play and will head on the road for its final conference series of the regular season, traveling to face Henderson State University May 1-2.

Southeastern controlled the opener, using a big second inning to build an early lead before a grand slam in the fourth put the game out of reach in the 10-0 final in five innings.

In game two, ECU flipped the momentum completely. Haley Kruger got things started in the fourth inning with a solo home run to left center, putting the Tigers on the board. ECU broke the game open in the fifth, stringing together a dominant offensive inning. Kruger added a two-RBI single, Lillian Bacon drove in a run on a walk, and Katelin Keller followed with an RBI fielder's choice.

The Tigers continued to pour it on as Kenni Tudor delivered a two-RBI single, setting up Elyse LeClair with runners in scoring position. With the run-rule in reach, ECU delivered the perfect finish. LeClair drove in fellow senior Kennedy Schroeder to secure the walk-off victory, giving the Tigers an 8-0 win and a fitting Senior Day celebration at Tiger Softball Field.

Bradi Odom led the way in the circle, earning her eighth win of the season with 4.1 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five. Lindsey Mauppin got the start, tossing 0.2 innings and helping set the tone early as the Tigers combined for a two-hit shutout.

Elyse LeClair led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Haley Kruger delivered a big performance with two hits and three RBIs, including a home run. Kenni Tudor added a two-RBI single, and Katelin Keller and Lillian Bacon each drove in a run. ECU also saw hits from Sara Camplain and Abbey Strong as the Tigers put together a strong all-around offensive showing in the win.
