PITTSBURG, Kan. — The East Central University soccer team wrapped up its opening road trip of the 2026 season on Sunday with a tough non-conference matchup against Pittsburg State University, falling 6-0 to the Gorillas at the PSU Soccer Complex.
Pittsburg State came out attacking early, finding the back of the net just 7:37 into the match to take an early lead. The Gorillas added two more goals in the opening 15 minutes, quickly building a 3-0 advantage over the Tigers.
PSU continued to pressure the Tigers throughout the remainder of the first half, adding another goal in the 31st minute to take a 4-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Gorillas added two more goals in the second half, including their final goal in the 69th minute, to secure the 6-0 victory.
Pittsburg State held the advantage in shots, 26-6, including a 12-3 edge in shots on goal.

Kylee Blair led with two shots each for the Tigers, with Hinnant having both on goal but both were saved by the Gorillas keeper. ECU goalkeeper
Parker Frei recorded six saves in the match.
The Tigers will remain on the road Wednesday, Sept. 2, traveling to Tyler, Texas, for another non-conference matchup against UT Tyler. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
