Kemboi Claims GAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Honors

Joyce Kemboi has been named the GAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Monday.
Kemboi had an impressive performance in the Tigers' season opener at the Aggie Duels hosted by Cameron University in Lawton, capturing the individual title in the women's 5K with a time of 17:06.5 to lead ECU to a first-place team finish.
Her time was the fastest recorded by any GAC women's runner competing in a season-opening meet over the weekend. Kemboi helped the Tigers post a team score of 30 points, finishing ahead of five other teams.
The honor marks Kemboi's first GAC Runner of the Week award of the 2026 season.
