2014: Named to the GAC Honorable Mention team…led the team and set a new single season record with 111 total tackles (48-63)…garnered 6.0 TFL for 14 yards and 2.0 sacks for seven yards…forced two fumbles…intercepted one pass for a 29-yard touchdown…added two quarterback hurries and one block kick.

2013: Earned 43.0 total tackles in nine games...tallied 24 solo tackles and 0.5 TFL…forced two fumbles…intercepted on pass and returned it for 30 yards…added two pass break-ups.

2012: Sat out due to injury.

2011: Redshirted.
 
2010: Earned All-Lone Star Conference North Second Team honors as a linebacker after compiling 5.5 tackles for minus-24 yards, including two quarterback sacks for losses of eight yards…besides his 34 total tackles (23 solo) in 2010, he also broke up a pair of passes and forced a fumble.
 
Before ECU: Earned all-state accolades at Bishop McGuiness High School where he posted 122 tackles as a senior…younger brother Jamaal is also a member of the ECU team.
 
Personal: Born October 31, 1991…son of Vernon and Tammie Whitney...majoring in finance.
