Jake Mitzner

Jake Mitzner joined the East Central University baseball coaching staff for the 2017 season as a graduate assistant coach.
 
Mitzner comes to the Tigers after spending the last two seasons at Great American Conference arch rival Southeastern Oklahoma State.  During his time with the Savage Storm he was a student assistant coach and helped the team to the GAC tournaments both seasons.
 
He spent the previous three years as a manager/student assistant at Murray State College, managing the day-to-day operations for the team.  He helped the Team to claim the 2013 NJCAA D2 National Title and was inducted to the Murray State Hall of Fame in Fall 2016.
 
Mitzner has also spent time in the Independent Baseball league, working as a manager for the Santa Fe Fuego in the summer of 2015.  He helped lead the team to the Pecos League North Division Title and the league championship.  While at Santa Fe the team has eight MLB drafted players on the pitching staff, all of which were promoted to a higher level at the end of the season.
 
The Eden Prairie, Minn., native earned an associate’s degree from Murray State in 2014 and a bachelor’s degree from Southeastern in 2016.  He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at East Central.
 
Mitzner is married to the former Meaghan Moody (from Moore, Okla.) and the couple live in Ada.
