Michael Mariano made the transition from East Central University baseball student-athlete to the Tigers Operations Assistant starting in the 2015 season.
Mariano spent two seasons in a black and orange uniform, seeing limited action due to injury. As a junior he played in 18 games and led the team with a .385 batting average. He tallied 20 hits, 10 runs and six RBIs as a junior and then added six hits, including a home run as a senior.
He came to the Tigers from Okmulgee High School, where he earned All-Tulsa Metro Honorable Mention team honors for four seasons.
The Okmulgee, Okla., native received his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from East Central in May 2014 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration.
