Nolan Fanning joined the East Central University baseball coaching staff for the 2017 season as a graduate assistant coach.
Fanning comes to the Tigers from Great American Conference foe Southeastern Oklahoma State. He spent two seasons in Durant, Okla., where he helped the Savage Storm to the GAC tournament and earned the Crafton Tull Distinguished Student-Athlete honor as a senior.
Before moving to Southeastern, Fanning spent two seasons at North Oklahoma College-Enid. As a sophomore he helped the team to a Region II Championships and advanced to the NJCAA World Series. His sophomore season also saw him claim NJCAA Academic All-America honors.
As a prep, Fanning claimed all-state honorable mention honors in baseball and Class 2A all-state and district offensive MVP honors as a quarterback for Coalgate High School.
The Coalgate, Okla., native earned an associate’s degree from Northern Oklahoma College and a bachelor’s degree in recreation from Southeastern Oklahoma State. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration from ECU.
