Tyle Hankins starts his second season with the East Central University baseball team as a graduate assistant coach after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Byng High School.
Over the summer of 2015, Hankins was an assistant coach for the Melville Millionaires in the Western Major Baseball league in Canada. During the summer of 2016 he will join fellow graduate assistant coach at ECU, Ken Jarrett, as an assistant coach for the Derby Twins in the Jayhawk League.
Helped the Pirates to three Oklahoma state tournament appearances in his four (fall/spring) seasons at Byng. Hankins has also been an assistant coach for one summer at the Southwest Shocker (legion ball) and will be an assistant coach for the Melville Millionaires of the Western Major Baseball collegiate league this summer in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Hankins played at ECU for three seasons (2010-12), earning Great American Conference All-Academic honors. He also spent one season at Clarendon College.
The Olustee, Okla., native earned a bachelor’s degree in history, teacher certification from East Central in December 2012 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration for ECU.
