Alex King returns to the Tigers as a graduate assistant coach in charge of the defensive line. King was a starter for ECU for three seasons (2011-13) as a defensive end.
After leaving the Tigers King went on to play for British Columbia Lions for one season. He also attended the New Orleans Saints training camp after his senior season at ECU.
While playing for the Tigers, King recorded 107 (53-54) total tackles in 27 games. He added 22.0 TFL (89 yards), seven passes defended, two forced fumbles, five recoveries and five quarterback hurries. King also recorded 8.5 sacks for 64 yards. As a senior he earned All-Great American Conference second team honors.
Prior to playing at ECU, King spent one season at American River Community College.
The Rancho Cordova, Calif., native is pursing his bachelor’s degree at ECU in criminal justice.
