Brandon Linney joined the East Central University football staff as a graduate assistant coach for tight ends.
He spent the 2020 season at Tyler Junior College as the running back coach. In eight games, his players produced 1,136 rushing years, 142 rushing yards per game and averaged 4.2 yards per carry, with 11 TDs. The starting running back, Roderick Hawkins, was honored as an All-South West Junior College Conference honorable mention.
Before moving to Tyler, he served as an assistant linebackers coach, out-of-state recruiting coordinator and co-equipment manager at Independence Community College (Kansas).
Linney has also spent time as a high school varsity assistant and head freshman football coach, with Rock Ridge High School for two seasons.
The Northern Virginia/Washington DC area native, earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice/sports management from Old Dominion University in May 2017 and is pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at East Central University.
