Jack Mitchell enters his fifth season on the East Central University football staff and serves as the Tigers’ Tight Ends & Fullbacks Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
Mitchell has coached multiple offensive position groups during his time at East Central, including Wide Receivers, Offensive Line, and now serving as the Tight Ends & Fullbacks Coach. His responsibilities include assisting with offensive game planning and player development.
In addition to his on-field coaching responsibilities, Mitchell serves as the program’s Recruiting Coordinator while overseeing many of the day-to-day football operations. He manages recruiting organization, official and unofficial visits, prospect evaluations, roster management, technology systems, equipment logistics, daily football operations, and other administrative responsibilities.
Mitchell has helped develop multiple All-Conference Tight Ends during his tenure and assists with the program’s recruiting efforts. His responsibilities also include coordinating many of the organizational and operational aspects of the ECU football program.
Mitchell joined the Tigers as a Student Assistant during the 2022 season before being promoted to a Graduate Assistant, then a Full-Time position in 2025 on Head Coach John Litrenta’s staff. Since then, his responsibilities have expanded to include recruiting, operations, and offensive development.
A native of Marlow, Oklahoma, Mitchell was an All-State offensive lineman at Marlow High School before beginning his collegiate career at Arkansas Tech University. He later transferred to East Central, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and his master’s degree in Sports Administration while beginning his coaching career.
Mitchell’s coaching philosophy centers on developing disciplined, physical football players while building meaningful relationships with student-athletes. His responsibilities with the Tigers include organization, player development, recruiting, and football operations.
