Jarod Haynes comes back to East Central after a year hiatus, this time as a volunteer assistant special teams coach.
From 2015-16, Haynes was a member of the Tigers football team as a kicker. In his senior season he averaged 40.2 yards punting and 55.0 yards on kick offs. In 11 games Haynes went 19-of-23 in PAT attempts and 9-of-12 in field goal attempts. His longest field goal was 45 yards and eight of his punts traveling over 50 yards.
While with the Tigers Haynes was also a standout in the classroom, earning Academic All-GAC and D2ADA Academic honors.
Haynes was a transfer from Oklahoma Baptist where he was a member of the swimming and diving team that claimed four national titles.
A native of Allen, Texas, Haynes earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology at Oklahoma Baptist in May 2015 and then a master’s degree in sports administration at East Central in December 2016.
