Jihad’ Wright came to East Central as a graduate assistant coach for defensive backs in 2015 after spending two years on the Oklahoma Panhandle State coaching staff. Since he has been promoted to Special Team Coordinator and defensive backs.
In just two season at ECU he has produced two All-Great American Conference players in Lexus Jackson and Jhames West.
While at OPSU, Wright spent the 2014 season as the secondary coach and 2013 as a student assistant after playing for the Aggies. During his time at OPSU he helped the defense become ranked No. 5 in the NCAA for total defense and No. 1 in pass efficiency defense in 2014.
The St. Louis, Mo., native earned a bachelor’s degrees in English and HPER from Oklahoma Panhandle State in 2013 and earned a master’s degree in sports administration at ECU in 2017.
