Josh Phillips enters his third season as coach of the Tiger’s quarterbacks.

In 2012, he helped develop freshman quarterback Spencer Bond into a 5-3 season after he took over the starting role four games into the season.

He also helped quarterback Tyler Vanderzee to earn All-Great American Conference Second Team honors in 2011 as Vanderzee threw for 2,934 yards and a school-record 25 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. Vanderzee also set a school record for passing yards in a game with 504.

The Sachse, Texas, native completed his career with the Tigers in 2010 as he completed over 50 percent of his passes for 2,277 yards and 19 touchdowns in his four seasons.
