Michael Ingram enters his 4th season at East Central University as Assistant Head Coach, Defensive Run Game Coordinator, and Defensive Line Coach, bringing a proven track record of player development, recruiting success, and championship experience at both the NCAA Division I and Division II levels.
Since arriving at East Central, Ingram has established himself as one of the premier defensive line coaches in the Great American Conference. During his first three seasons with the Tigers, he has helped develop 8 All-Great American Conference selections.
Under Ingram's leadership, East Central's defensive line has experienced significant growth and production. After the Tigers recorded 7 defensive line sacks in 2022, Ingram helped transform the unit into one of the program's most productive position groups, totaling 20 defensive line sacks in 2025.
Ingram has helped develop multiple All-Conference performers at East Central, including three-time All-Great American Conference selection Michael Onwuzurike and two-time All-Great American Conference selections Prince Umanmielen, Darian Williams, and Seth Aguilera. In 2025, Onwuzurike led the Tigers in sacks while finishing third in the Great American Conference. Ingram also coached Seth Spady, who was named the 2025 Great American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Prior to East Central, Ingram was a member of the coaching staff at Stephen F. Austin, where he helped the Lumberjacks reach the 2021 NCAA FCS Playoffs, the program's first postseason appearance since 2014, before helping lead SFA to the 2022 Western Athletic Conference Championship.
During his tenure with the Lumberjacks, Ingram helped develop 7 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) All-Conference selections, including All-America defensive linemen Ed Bobino and BJ Thompson. Thompson finished second in the WAC in sacks during the 2022 season and earned recognition on the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List, honoring the nation's top defensive player in the Football Championship Subdivision.
In addition to his defensive line responsibilities at Stephen F. Austin, Ingram assisted with special teams under Special Teams Coordinator Nick Nelson, helping develop a nationally recognized specialist unit that featured All-America kicker Chris Campos and All-America punter Max Quick.
Ingram has established himself as one of the rising young coaches in college football. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped develop 15 All-Conference selections, multiple All-Americans, a Great American Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, conference champions, playoff participants, and numerous student-athletes who have earned conference and national recognition.
