Ben Brown-White joins the East Central University men’s basketball coaching staff in 2017-18 as a student assistant after spending the last two seasons on the bench in an orange and black uniform.
While playing for the Tigers, he helped the team claim back-to-back regular-season GAC titles, the 2016-17 GAC tournament championship and the team’s first trip to the NCAA Central Regional. In two seasons he played in all 63 games, averaging over five points and four rebounds per game.
Prior to coming to ECU, he spent a year at McLennan Community College, where he helped the Highlanders to a third-place finish in the conference and a regional tournament appearance. He also spent a season at Stephen F. Austin, where the team went 32-3 and advanced to the nation tournament.
The all-district first team selection as a prep, attended Dulles High School. He averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds per game as a senior.
The Houston, Texas, native is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology at East Central.
