2012: Claimed
the NCAA’s Toughest to Strikeout honor by not being struck-out in any of her
166 at bats…was the only player in NCAA DII play in 2012 to not get
struck-out…named to the Great American Conference All-Academic Team…finished
the season first in the GAC for her five triples…was one of five players to see
action in all 45 games for the Lady Tigers and one of four to start in all
45..tallied 55 hits, including four doubles and five triples…recorded 17 RBIs…was
9-of-10 in stole base attempts…had a .946 fielding percentage on 85 put-outs,
125 assisted outs and 12 errors.
2011: Was a First Team All-Lone
Star Conference North selection as a shortstop in 2011…She batted .351 with one
home run, three triples, eight doubles and 13 runs batted in while hitting in
the No. 2 spot for ECU last season…Simmons had five three-hit games last season
and 19 multi-hit efforts…Her slugging percentage was .443 and her on-base
percentage ended up being .370…She showed speed with her team-leading three
triples as she also stole 13 bases in 16 attempts…Simmons displayed great
defensive range from her shortstop position as she had a .953 fielding
percentage.
2010: Was an All-LSC North
honorable mention honoree as a freshman in batting .337 with one homer, four
triples and 20 RBIs…Simmons made the all-tournament team at the 2010 LSC
Championships as she made several outstanding defensive plays without an error
while hitting .500 with a double, four runs scored and a pair of stolen bases
in that event.
Before ECU: Played at Richland High
School, where she was a first team all-district and defensive player of the year
as a junior and senior…was chosen as newcomer of the year as a freshman at
Richland and picked up a second team all-district award as a sophomore.
