East Central University head soccer coach Alyssa Taramona is excited to welcome Joseph Quiray to the Tigers staff as an assistant coach for the 2025 season, bringing valuable collegiate coaching and playing experience to help guide and elevate the program.
Â
Prior to joining ECU, Quiray spent seven seasons at the University of Dallas (2018-25), where he served as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in the development of the team’s tactical approach, player development, and recruitment strategy. He helped guide the program to five appearances in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) tournament and a trip to the SCAC championship match. In Spring 2025, he served as the program's acting head coach, overseeing all aspects of team operations including training, recruiting, and player management.
Â
As a former NCAA student-athlete at the University of Dallas, Quiray was a four-year member of the Crusaders' men’s soccer program where he appeared in 30 games and logged in 653 total minutes. His experience as a collegiate player laid the foundation for his coaching philosophy, which emphasizes tactical discipline, player development, and a team-first mentality.
Â
In addition to his collegiate coaching career, Quiray has served as a staff coach for Exact Sports since 2021, leading training sessions at multiple college ID camps across Texas.
Â
A native of Sugar Land, Texas, Quiray earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business in 2018 and completed his Master of Science in Business Analytics at the University of Dallas in May 2025.
