Justin Graham was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and head tennis coach at East Central University in July 2014. He has been a member of the Tigers athletic staff since 2009 when he was named the assistant baseball coach.
Graham was the assistant baseball coach through the 2012 season when he transitioned to the role of Compliance Director. He then added the role of interim head men’s and women’s tennis coach to his duties for the 2013-14 season.
The 2015-16 season saw the women’s tennis team claim the Great American Conference regular-season and tournament titles and earn the team’s first automatic bid to the NCAA Central Regional. The women’s team saw sophomore Gloria Mayorga earn the GAC Newcomer of the Year and All-GAC Second Team honors. Julia Municoy also claimed her second-straight All-GAC First Team honor, while Bernardita Muscillo was named to the All-GAC Second Team.
The men’s team was also honored by the GAC, with freshman Alex Fillat claiming the GAC Freshman of the Year, while both Alex and brother Marc were named to the All-GAC First Team.
In his first season as tennis coach, Graham saw the men’s tennis team claim their third-straight GAC runner-up finish at the 2014 GAC Championship and second in the regular-season standings. Juniors Max DeJuan and Marc Fillat were also named to the All-GAC First Team for the second straight season.
The 2013-14 women’s tennis team advanced to the GAC Semifinals and a No. 4 seed heading into the tournament. Freshman Julia Municoy earned All-GAC First Team honors and junior Elisabeth Dignard was named to the All-GAC Second Team.
Student-athletes from both teams were also honored for their off the court accomplishments. Fillat was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Men’s At-Large Team and senior Agostina Moran has the ECU and GAC nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.
Before joining the ECU baseball staff, Graham was a member of the 2004 and 2005 baseball teams as a pitcher. He helped the Tigers claim the 2004 Lone Star Conference North Division Title.
The Ada, Okla., native earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from East Central in 2006, with a minor in business. When he returned to ECU as the assistant baseball coach he then took the opportunity to earn his master’s degree in sports administration in 2010.
Graham is married to the former Jami Dryden, who played softball at ECU from 2001-04. The couple has two children, Hagen (8) and Kadi (4).
