Essix begins her second season as a graduate assistant coach after a two-year playing career on the ECU squad.
 
As an outside hitter, Essix was fourth on the squad in kills per set (1.95) in 2011. She reached double digits in kills seven times last season, including a 16 in a home victory over Ouachita Baptist.
 
Essix played at Hill College (Texas) two seasons before transferring to ECU. She is from Commerce, Texas. Her younger sister Danielle is a junior on the Lady Tiger team.
