Christopher Bolden enters his third season at East Central University and serves as the Tigers' Offensive Coordinator, and Running Backs Coach.
Bolden joined the ECU staff in January 2024 as Wide Receivers Coach before being promoted to Offensive Coordinator and Running Backs Coach prior to the 2025 season. In his first year directing the offense, he engineered one of the most productive and efficient offensive seasons in school history. The Tigers increased their offensive output by 1,204 total yards while running six fewer plays than the previous season, improved by 18 touchdowns and 10 points per game, and averaged 370.1 yards of offense per contest. ECU also produced the program's most efficient passing offense since 2015, averaged 6.0 yards per play, the second-highest mark in school history, and recorded its best red-zone efficiency since 2013. Under Bolden's leadership, the offense produced 12 All-Great American Conference selections, the most in the league. As academic coordinator, he also helped lead the program to a school-record 3.18 team GPA.
Prior to East Central, Bolden spent the 2023 season as Wide Receivers Coach at San Marcos High School, where he coached First-Team All-District wide receiver Tony Diaz, who established a new school single-season receiving yards record. Before returning to the high school ranks, Bolden served on the staff at the University of Texas at San Antonio as an Offensive Analyst working with the wide receivers in 2023 after spending the 2022 season as a Defensive Analyst working with the linebackers. At UTSA, he assisted with opponent scouting, game planning, recruiting, and offensive and defensive analytics during one of the most successful periods in program history.
Bolden previously coached tight ends and coordinated special teams at the University of Central Oklahoma from 2020–21 after coaching running backs at Texas A&M–Kingsville and Butler Community College during the 2019 season. He began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant running backs coach at Texas State University from 2017–19, his alma mater, where he helped develop the run game while gaining experience in offensive operations and player development.
Bolden has coached quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends while developing numerous All-Conference performers.
A native of Austin, Texas, Bolden earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sports Science from Texas State University, where he walked on as a slot receiver/running back, and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Central Oklahoma
