East Central University Athletics

Tillman Hartner joined East Central University as the Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning in 2025. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Ottawa University, where he also competed as a national-level powerlifter for three consecutive years.

Hartner is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA and holds a Functional Movement Screen Level 1 (FMS 1) certification, allowing him to optimize athlete performance while minimizing injury risk.

Before joining ECU, Hartner gained valuable experience as an Athletic Performance intern at Ottawa University (Oct 2022-May 2024) and as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Harding University (July-Dec 2024). His dedication to developing athletes and promoting strength and performance excellence has made him a key addition to ECU’s strength and conditioning staff.
