RUSSELLVILLE, ARK. – East Central University men's basketball junior Stirling Thomas has picked up his first honor of the 2014-15 season, as he was named the Great American Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 24.

The Elgin, Okla., native helped the Tigers (3-1, 2-0 GAC) to two GAC wins on the road over Arkansas-Monticello and Henderson State in the opening week of league action and the team's first 2-0 start in GAC play.

Thomas opened with 22 points and five assists against Arkansas-Monticello. He shot 7-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the 3-point arc. Two days later, he scored 36 points and added seven steals vs Henderson State. He made 11-of-14 shots and 7-of-8 on 3-pointers. His .875 (7-of-8) mark from behind the arc tied a school record for three-point field-goal percentage in a game and he was one steal away from tying the school record for steals in a game.
